These are pictures of Roger and Brian during our two hour wait at the border!
Roger, Scott, Brian and I all went down to Utah this weekend. We left here Friday at 6:00 p.m and got home Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. What you need to know is the trip home took us 11 and 1/2 hours!! Yes that's right. ELEVEN AND A HALF! It usually is a five hour trip. We left Lynne's house after the boys got home from the game. It was 8:00 p.m. We drove to the Utah/Idaho border where we found out the road was closed because of weather conditions. We tried calling the road condition info center and all the recording would say was that the road was closed. It was odd because where we sat the roads were clear and dry. We made the assumption that they would open the road at any time. WRONG. We sat for two hours and nothing. We all took a vote and decided to go back to Tremonton (a 40 mile trip) and drive up and around Pocatello to get home. When we got to Pocatello the snow storm of the century was waging. We fought our way through to Twin Falls going mostly 35 to 40 miles an hour. I actually got up to 50 at one point for a five mile stretch but it was bad. We finally pulled into our drive way at 7:45 a.m.! I had our Primary Practice for the Sacrament Meeting program next week and felt like I had to be here. I had offered many prayers on the way home and am just glad we made it safe and sound.
When we changed drivers in Pocatello, Roger and I ran in to a convenience store. The lady behind the counter knew who Roger and I were the minute she saw us. We on the other hand had to be told that she was a very close friend to Shauna Harrison and knew us from over thirty years ago. She was so young when we lived there I don't know how she remembered us but she did. Her name was Karla Woods. She was very excited to see us.
